Terms of Service

1. Acceptance
By creating an account you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. TCG Assistant is available to UK residents only. By registering you confirm you are a UK resident, and you agree to this being logged with a timestamp for compliance purposes.
2. Marketplace rules
You may only list genuine trading cards that you own. Counterfeit, proxy, or altered cards are strictly prohibited. TCG Assistant reserves the right to remove listings and suspend accounts at any time for violations of these rules or behaviour deemed harmful to the community.
3. Fees
Sellers are charged no fees. There is no listing fee, no commission, and no deduction from the sale price. Sellers receive exactly the amount they list.
Buyers pay a mandatory Buyer Protection fee on every purchase, added on top of the item price at checkout. This fee is non-refundable except where TCG Assistant issues a full refund under the Buyer Protection policy. The fee structure is as follows:
- Items under £10: 8% + £0.80
- Items £10–£50: 6% + £0.60
- Items £50–£150: 5% + £0.50
- Items £150–£500: 3% + £0.30
- Items £500 and over: 3% (no fixed component)
Postage is charged separately at cost, set by the seller. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Funds are held in escrow until delivery is confirmed or the auto-release period elapses.
4. Buyer Protection
The Buyer Protection fee entitles the buyer to a full refund of the item price in the following circumstances:
- The item is lost in transit and tracking confirms non-delivery
- The item is significantly not as described in the listing
- The item arrives visibly damaged due to transit
Buyers must report an issue within 3 days of the expected delivery date via the order dispute form. TCG Assistant will investigate the claim and respond within 72 working hours. A refund will be issued where the claim is valid. We will then pursue a carrier compensation claim on behalf of the buyer where applicable.
Buyer Protection does not cover change of mind, minor cosmetic differences in card condition that fall within the stated grade, or items that tracking confirms were successfully delivered.
5. Shipping
Sellers must use a tracked shipping service appropriate to the item value. Items sent without tracking are not eligible for carrier compensation claims and the seller accepts full liability for any loss. Minimum shipping requirements by item value are displayed at listing creation.
6. Escrow and fund release
Payment is held in escrow from the point of purchase. Funds are released to the seller automatically 48 hours after the tracking status shows delivered, or when the buyer manually confirms receipt — whichever occurs first. Disputed orders have their funds held until the dispute is resolved.
7. Prohibited items
The following may not be listed: counterfeit or proxy cards, cards that have been altered or tampered with (unless clearly disclosed as art cards), stolen property, or items whose sale would be unlawful in the United Kingdom.
8. Account termination
TCG Assistant may suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraud, or cause harm to other users. Any funds held in escrow at the time of termination for fraud will be returned to the buyer.
9. Limitation of liability
TCG Assistant acts as a marketplace platform and is not a party to the contract between buyer and seller. Our liability is limited to the value of the Buyer Protection fee paid on the relevant transaction. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
